New Hire: Chanell Crichlow, University of the Pacific
Chanell Crichlow has recently been hired as Assistant Professor of Practice in Tuba and Euphonium, Composition, and Music Industries at the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific. She will begin serving in this position in August 2021 and her duties will include teaching applied tuba and euphonium lessons, leading tuba/euphonium studio class, and coaching chamber ensembles. In addition, Chanell will teach classes in Media Production, Music, Sound, and Film and Introduction to Music Industry Tech. As a tubist, she has performed with Yuga Cohler (YEETHOVEN, K-POP), Ludwig Göransson, (Wordless Music Orchestra), Solange (Governors Ball Music Festival), Andy Grammer (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Today Show), Shamir (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), Pharoahe Monch (The Ecstatic Music Festival, Duke University), and more. A 2021 Sundance Composers Lab Fellow, Chanell had the opportunity to work closely with Film and Television composers on her craft. Chanell received her Masters in Classical Tuba Performance at Pennsylvania State University under the tutelage of Velvet Brown and her Bachelors in Classical Tuba Performance at The Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Toby Hanks.
