Dr. Geoffrey Durbin is a new member of the United States Navy Fleet Band, and he will ship out for basic training in January 2021. With the Navy Fleet Band, his duties will include performing in the Wind Ensemble, Parade Band, and chamber ensembles. Geoff has served as the Visiting Assistant Professor of Low Brass and Musicology at Ouachita Baptist University since 2017 and performed as a member of Presidio Brass since 2015. He was the first place gold medal winner in the 2013 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Competition (Artist Division). He is an XO Brass and Jupiter performing artist on euphonium and trombone and holds degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, the University of North Texas, and the University of Memphis. His principal teachers have been Dr. Gary Bird, Dr. Brian Bowman, and Dr. John Mueller.
